My entire life I've been fascinated by stories. Stories, both new and old, have been a driving force behind my creative process. With painting traditionally, I strive to push the medium by exploring the abstract in an attempt to invoke the emotions and impression of stories. With digital painting, my aim is to give the viewer a glimpse at a narrative, as an invitation, so that they can in turn create their own version of the story.

Odin, the king of the Aesir gods in Norse Paganism, is often associated with wisdom, death, magic, and poetry. One of his most defining characteristics is his constant pursuit of knowledge, an endeavor that he is aided in by his two raven companions, Huginn and Muninn. Every day at dawn, Huginn and Muninn would fly across the world and by evening they would return to impart all that they had seen and heard to Odin. Huginn and Muninn were Odin's eyes through which he saw the world. Twin Ravens Gallery's name was inspired by the same purpose. With art being a way to depict the way in which we see the world, and how an artist connects to it. |
